Write for Kindness 2017

 

Calling for creative writers and illustrators who love to inspire young readers with kindness. Form a team of five within your secondary school/junior college/centralised institute and put your ideas into a children’s storybook suitable for pre-schoolers aged 4 to 6 with the theme; ‘Kindness, it’s up to us.’

To participate in this competition, attend a comprehensive story-writing and illustrating workshop by Patrick Yee, one of Singapore’s leading illustrators with more than 155 children’s books and Eliza Teoh, author of the national best-selling Ellie Belly middle grade children’s series.

Hurry! Slots are open on a first-come-first-serve basis, registrations will be closed once a maximum number of 90 participants has reached.

1st Prize:  Prizes worth $250

2nd Prize: Prizes worth $200

3rd Prize: Prizes worth $150

The winning story will have the opportunity to have their book published and distributed to pre-schools. All participants will also be invited to attend an awards ceremony in November 2017*.

About Write for Kindness

Write for Kindness 2017 is a national story-writing competition organised by the Singapore Kindness Movement (SKM) and supported by the All In! Young Writers Festival. It is a platform for secondary school, junior college and centralised institute students to promote kindness to pre-schoolers by creating age-appropriate and culturally relevant children’s stories through creative writing and illustrations.

Schools attending the workshop are also entitled to a special partner’s discount to attend the All In! Young Writers Festival conference on 11-12 March 2017.
