Kindergarteners learn basic etiquette through Kindsville Tour
Friday, 20 January 2017 — 22 students from Sarada Kindergarten participated in the first interactive Kindsville Tour at the new Kindness Gallery this morning where they joined Singa to learn about gracious behavior on public transport.
Having relocated, The Kindness Gallery has revamped its setting for the Kindsville Tours which are aimed at helping preschoolers develop good social etiquette from a young age. A Kindness minibus is stationed at the Gallery where SMRT has generously donated items such as priority seat stickers, license plate and uniform sets in a magnanimous show of support for the Kindsville Tour.
A Singapore Kindness Movement (SKM) representative led the group of preschoolers around the Gallery where they engaged in fun activities such as enacting real-life scenarios during the tour. Following the principle of teaching children proper manners from a very young age, they were encouraged to use five magic words ‘Thank you’, ‘You’re welcome’, ‘Please’, ‘Excuse me’ and ‘I’m sorry’.
