It's good to be kind… and the thank you notes really help too.ALL the students, teachers and staff of GIIS Balestier are part of a three-month project on kindness and graciousness titled Kindness Rocks. As a part of the project, five students were chosen to attend a workshop conducted by the Singapore Kindness Movement. These students are now known as The Friend of Singa Ambassadors.Excited at spreading positive attitudes like kindness and graciousness, we designed unique posters on how to be kind in the school bus, on the playground and in the canteen. Each of us has also been given the Act of Benevolence card which keeps a record of every act of kindness done by us during these three months. I know what you're thinking: How do you know we have really been kind? Well, our cards have to be countersigned by the person to whom we have been kind.Like my fellow students, I am excited about Kindness Rocks and started my kind acts: I helped the cleaning aunties in our school to arrange chairs, shared a pencil with my friend when he needed it, shared my book etc. My list was so long that I was announced as one of the Super Kind Kids!Whenever I am kind, I feel happy. Now my friends are also kinder and more courteous, thanks to this project.By RUDRA PATIL. Class 5D
